17 Nov Taylor Swift Breaks the Internet
What a roller coaster ride. For those that know me understand that I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan. When I received an email containing a ticket presale code that made my day. The plan was to purchase 6 tickets which would cover everyone in my party.
Two hours prior to the presale opening up on Tuesday 11/15 it was time to make sure I was ready. My brother, who happens to be the I.T. guru. Now whether that statement has legs is debatable. Personally I think he just plays Call of Duty or whatever else happens to be the hot thing on Reddit.
The ritual, one that I fully support, is to do the following things in order.
1 – Shutdown the computer
2- Unplug the internet modem & wireless router for 10 minutes
3- Turn the equipment back on starting with the modem then the router
4- After the internet equipment has been up for at least 5 minutes it’s time to turn the computer on.
TicketMaster vs fans
60 seconds until go time and Google Chrome is ready to rock. Just for insurance I opened the Ticketmaster site on the BRAVE browser as well.
2PM hits, my code to enter the presale was accepted and my credit card was on hand for easy access. To my surprise and horror there were 2000+ people in front of me. How was that even possible?
I waited for my turn in line. No matter how fast I clicked finding a ticket was like playing an old fashioned game of Wack-A-Mole speed up at 5 times the normal speed.
Time after time my screen flashed a message that another fan beat me to it. A solid 90 minutes spent clicking like a mad woman after 3 cans of RedBull left me without a single ticket. What a joke.
